Questo vino
Vineyard and terroir
The vineyard’s oldest vines are at least 40 years old. They naturally give very low yields of highly concentrated fruit.
Vinification
The grapes undergo a 40-day maceration on the skins in large oak casks.
Ageing
The wine matures for 36 months in 500-litre French oak barrels, of which 80% are new and 20% are second-use. After bottling, it rests for at least another six months in the winery’s cellars.
Tasting profile
Fresh and complex, with a distinctly mineral character.
Label / history
The name Ciliegio comes from one of the two cherry trees standing on either side of the vineyard, which make the site identifiable from a distance. The 2018 vintage was bottled in July 2022, with 1,566 individually numbered bottles produced.
