Vineyard and terroir
The fruit is grown around Panicale, near Lake Trasimeno in central Umbria, where Mediterranean influence meets continental freshness. Warm days support full ripening and generous fruit, while cooler nights preserve acidity and structure. The estate, situated between the southern shore of Lake Trasimeno and Panicale, has clay-limestone soils and a mild climate with warm summers and cool nights, allowing slow ripening.
Vinification
The grapes are harvested by hand. Fermentation includes 12–14 days of skin contact to extract aromas and tannins.
Ageing
The wine matures for six months in second- and third-use French oak barriques, which contribute subtle vanilla and spice without obscuring the fruit or making the texture heavy. It then rests in bottle, becoming more composed and rounded.
Tasting profile
Rich and elegant, with gentle power and refined structure. Generous fruit is joined by subtle vanilla and spice. Soft tannins, steady acidity and a well-knit structure give a balanced, harmonious and mature palate.
Label / history
Ferruccio Lamborghini founded the winery in the 1960s after leaving the automotive business and returning to his agricultural roots. The La Fiorita estate covers about 100 hectares, including 32 hectares of vineyards. His daughter Patrizia Lamborghini has managed it since the 1990s, and the winery works with oenologist Riccardo Cotarella. Bottles in the Luxe Collection feature a design combining traditional and modern elements.
