Vineyard and terroir
The Sangiovese grows at 450–500 metres above sea level. The vines are 25 years old on average.
Vinification
The grapes are harvested by hand into 15 kg crates and sorted by hand at the winery. Spontaneous fermentation is followed by malolactic fermentation. During fermentation, délestage is performed one to three times daily for five days, while the cap is punched down once daily for 14 days.
Ageing
The wine ages for 18 months, with 30% in tonneaux and 70% in 3,200-litre casks. After blending, it matures for a further month in steel tanks.
Tasting profile
Fresh and easy-drinking.
Vintage notes
The 2019 vintage in Tuscany was abundant. Spring was rainy and cooler than usual, and flowering began slightly late in June as warmer weather arrived. Summer temperatures remained within the normal range, with a good difference between daytime and nighttime temperatures.
