Questo vino
Vineyard and terroir
The grapes are grown in Umbria, in the centre of Italy. It is the only Italian region with neither a coastline nor an international border. Its size gives it several climate zones, from Mediterranean to continental. Summers are generally warm and dry and winters mild. Rainfall is low, which keeps humidity down, and most of it falls in the eastern part of the region.
Vinification
The grapes are harvested at optimal ripeness, from late August to early September. Cold maceration takes place in stainless steel tanks. Fermentation then takes place in barriques.
Ageing
The wine ages on its lees for 6 months in barrique, with periodic bâtonnage. It then rests in bottle for a further 8 months.
Tasting profile
A harmonious dry white in a Burgundian style, with a strong, sunny character. Its gold colour is matched by the concentration of its flavours and aromas.
Label / history
The name reflects pride in the wine's Umbrian origins and points to its strong, sunny character. "Aurente" recalls gold, in both colour and the concentration of flavours and aromas.
