Grapes
Equal parts Syrah, Sangiovese and Merlot.
Vinification
The grapes are harvested in September and October. Fermentation takes place in stainless-steel tanks, with 15–20 days of skin contact. The wine is lightly filtered after maturation in barriques.
Ageing
Eight months in barriques, followed by a little over one year in bottle.
Tasting profile
The 2006 vintage is well structured and elegant, with a complex, rich bouquet and a smooth, enveloping and refined palate.
Label / history
The name comes from a 1988 painting by Piero Dorazio, reproduced on the label.
