Vineyard and terroir
The vineyards lie along the Tiber River in Umbria, on clay and sandy soils, and the grapes are grown organically. Umbria is in the centre of Italy and is the only Italian region with neither a coastline nor an international border. Its size gives it several climate zones, from Mediterranean to continental. Summers are generally dry and warm and winters mild. Rainfall is low, which keeps humidity down, and most of it falls in the east of the region.
Vinification
The grapes are harvested by hand at optimal ripeness. Fermentation takes place in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks, with 25 days of skin contact.
Ageing
The wine ages for 10 months in oak barrels. After bottling it rests a further 6 months in the winery's cellars.
Vintage notes
For the 2020 vintage, drinking between 2023 and 2027 is recommended.
