Questo vino
Vineyard and terroir
The fruit is grown in Montalcino, where the soils consist mainly of river pebbles and limestone. The climate is dry and sunny, with clear air and no fog.
Vinification
The grapes are harvested by hand at optimal ripeness, with selection limited to the healthiest berries. Fermentation takes place in stainless-steel tanks at no more than 28 °C, followed by 25 days of skin contact. Malolactic fermentation begins as the natural yeasts become more active.
Ageing
The wine matures for 30 months in French oak barrels in their first or second year of use and is lightly filtered before bottling. The 2015 vintage was expected to be at its best from 2020 to 2030.
