Questo vino
Vineyard and terroir
The fruit grows in the Grosseto area of Maremma, where a hot, dry climate limits yields. The winery is close to the vineyard, allowing the grapes to reach the cellar while still fresh.
Grapes
Various clones of Sangiovese are used.
Vinification
The grapes are harvested at the end of September. Traditional vinification takes place in stainless-steel tanks.
Ageing
The wine rests in bottle for several months.
Vintage notes
The 2020 growing season was unusually warm and dry. A mild winter gave way to a spring of sunny days and light showers, followed by a hot, dry summer that brought the grapes rapidly to phenolic ripeness. Cool nights preserved their acidity and bright aromatic profile. The harvest took place in good weather, with the grapes in excellent condition.
