Vineyard and terroir
The grapes are grown in the province of Asti, in vineyards at 250 m above sea level on clay-limestone soils. Sea breezes and a wide annual temperature range influence ripening and contribute to refined, aromatic fruit.
Vinification
The grapes are harvested in the second half of September. Half undergo cold maceration; the remainder are gently pressed and kept in contact with the skins for 10 days.
Ageing
Half of the wine ages for 10 months in Slavonian oak casks, while the other half ages in French oak barriques.
