Vineyard and terroir
The name Molamatta identifies the area containing the vineyards used for this wine. The hilly terrain originated in the Eocene period and comprises alternating layers of sandstone and loam rock, including limestone and clay. Its impermeable character encourages rainwater to run across the surface, limiting erosion and preventing water from stagnating. The vines are trained to Guyot.
Grapes
A blend of Pinot Grigio, Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc. Blend percentages are not specified.
Vinification
The grapes are picked by hand and destemmed. The must and pulp undergo cold maceration at controlled temperature, followed by gentle pressing to separate the juice from the skins. Fermentation proceeds in temperature-controlled stainless-steel tanks.
Ageing
The wine refines on its lees for six months before bottling, followed by several additional months of bottle ageing.
Technical data
Available in 0.75 L and 1.5 L bottles. Alcohol is given as approximately 12% on the wine page and approximately 12.5% in the technical sheet.
Tasting profile
Straw yellow. In its youth, the bouquet centres on elegant fresh-fruit aromas; with time, sweeter apple and pear notes emerge. The palate is rounded and balanced, combining fruit with mineral nuances.
