Vineyard and terroir
Calafuria comes from vineyards extending along the Adriatic coast at Masseria Maìme in Upper Salento, near San Pietro Vernotico in the province of Brindisi. The estate's vines grow between woodland and pine forest near the sea. Adriatic breezes helped the 2025 fruit retain aroma and freshness.
Grapes
Negroamaro.
Vinification
Immediately after harvest, the grapes are destemmed and gently pressed. The must is placed in stainless-steel tanks at 12 °C to settle and clarify naturally. Alcoholic fermentation takes place at 16 °C to preserve the aromatic profile.
Ageing
The wine spends a short period on its lees in stainless steel before bottling and release.
Technical data
The 2025 vintage has 12% alcohol by volume. Formats include 750 ml and a 1.5 L Calafuria × Pantone artist-edition magnum.
Tasting profile
The 2025 wine is a delicate peach-blossom pink. Pink grapefruit, lychee and nectarine lead the aroma, accompanied by jasmine. The palate is fresh and delicately savory, with good aromatic persistence.
Serving and pairing
Serve at 10–12 °C with fresh cheeses, pasta in light sauces, delicate meats or fried fish.
Vintage notes
The 2025 season began with a mild, moderately rainy winter that replenished soil-water reserves. Spring was dry with temperatures near seasonal norms, while summer was generally warm and dry, with useful day-to-night temperature variation. Adriatic breezes, soil management and canopy work supported balanced ripening. Harvest ran from late August through 18 September.
Label / history
Calafuria is named after one of Puglia's more than 700 bays. The special Calafuria × Pantone magnum translates the wine's pink color into a collectible graphic design.
