Investment in Puglia

In 1998, the Antinori family began investing in Puglia, motivated by a conviction that the region had exceptional potential to produce high-quality wines with a strong territorial identity. Masseria Maìme became the Upper Salento property within the family's Tormaresca project.

The estate today

Masseria Maìme occupies approximately 500 hectares in Upper Salento. About 350 hectares are planted with vineyards and a further 85 hectares with olive groves. The estate extends along the Adriatic coast, with vineyards emerging between woodland and pine groves and continuing toward the sea.

Cantina Tormaresca forms the productive and architectural center of the property. Conceived as an innovative contemporary structure, its design reinterprets natural forms associated with the Salento landscape, particularly the sinuous outlines of agave leaves and olive trees.

Masseria Maìme lies in Upper Salento, in Puglia, and unfolds along the Adriatic coast. Its vineyards emerge between woodland and pine groves and extend toward the sea, making the coastal landscape, surrounding vegetation and proximity to the Adriatic defining elements of the estate's setting.

Cantina Tormaresca is the production center at the heart of Masseria Maìme. The winery is an innovative contemporary structure whose architecture reinterprets characteristic forms of Salento vegetation, including the flowing curves of agave leaves and olive trees.

Tormaresca presents Puglian viticulture as a meeting of history and innovation. Its guiding ambition is to express the character, personality and qualitative potential that Puglia gives to the varieties cultivated there, whether indigenous or introduced. The Antinori family's investment was driven by passion, confidence in the region's potential and the objective of producing wines with a strong territorial identity.
