Vineyard and terroir
The grapes come from a 7 ha vineyard at Mirabella Eclano, near Irpinia in Campania. The site lies at 400 m above sea level with a southwesterly exposure. Its mineral-rich silty soil contains tuff, and the land is influenced by Mount Vesuvius. The local climate is mild. The vines are approximately six years old and yield 7 tonnes per hectare.
Vinification
The grapes are harvested in late October and vinified in temperature-controlled stainless-steel tanks.
Ageing
The wine rests in bottle for approximately three to four months.
Label / history
The 7 ha vineyard supplies enough fruit for an annual production of approximately 20,000 bottles.
