Vineyard and terroir

100% Arneis from vineyards in Vezza d’Alba, Piobesi d’Alba and Monteu Roero. The sites were selected for complementary characteristics: sandy soil at Piobesi d’Alba contributes minerality, while a marly site in northern Roero brings greater structure and body. The technical sheet summarizes the soils as sand and silt.

Vinification

Harvest takes place from late August to early September following summer green harvesting. Grapes arrive in perforated 25 kg crates, spend approximately two days in cold storage and undergo further selection on a vibrating table before soft pressing. The must ferments in steel tanks at controlled temperature without chemical additives. Lots from the different vineyards are vinified separately and subsequently blended.

Ageing

The wine remains in steel tanks for 2–3 months on its fine lees, with frequent bâtonnage. Bottling normally takes place at the beginning of the year following harvest.

Technical data

Alcohol: 13–13.5%.

Tasting profile

Pale straw yellow with green highlights. The nose is delicate, fresh and herbaceous, with white flowers and pear-like fruit. The palate is round and harmonious, finishing with a gently bitter note. The finished blend is mineral and fruit-rich, with a characteristic ripe-pear expression.

Serving and pairing

Serve slightly cool as an aperitif or with starters, first courses and fish dishes. Its freshness also suits summer drinking.
