Vineyard and terroir

Trèsüri is a classic Barolo assembled from three terroirs with distinct exposures, soils and microclimates. The vineyards enjoy favorable sunlight, and their individual qualities are developed through separate harvesting, vinification and maturation. The soils are calcareous.

Grapes

100% Nebbiolo.

Vinification

Green harvesting takes place in summer. The grapes are picked by hand in October into perforated 25 kg crates, then undergo another manual selection on vibrating tables and gentle pressing. Fermentation takes place in temperature-controlled stainless-steel tanks, with automated daily pump-overs and punch-downs. Skin contact lasts 12–16 days.

Ageing

Malolactic fermentation precedes maturation in French oak. The technical data specify 36 months in 1,600 L casks and some smaller 400 L barrels. The broader production description refers to about 30 months, partly in tonneaux and partly in 1,500 L casks, with the approach adjusted to the vintage and the character of each site. The separately matured components are blended only afterward. Bottle maturation lasts at least six months before release.

Technical data

Alcohol: 14–14.5%.

Tasting profile

Ruby red with garnet reflections. The nose is refined and elegant, showing cherry, rose and sweet licorice. The palate is full and harmonious, with soft, polished tannins and a long, persistent finish. Aromatic freshness and elegance allow relatively early enjoyment, while the structure supports extended ageing.

Serving and pairing

Pair with red meats or aged cheeses.
