Vineyard and terroir
The vineyards lie around Magrè at the foot of a gentle slope, between 220 and 350 metres above sea level, with southern and south-eastern exposure. The white chalky gravel contains well-aerated humus. The Mediterranean setting brings hot summers and mild winters, while the Ora arrives from Lake Garda as a warm afternoon wind.
Grapes
A cuvée of Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc.
Vinification
The grapes are picked by hand and carefully destemmed. Fermentation takes place in stainless-steel tanks with gentle pumping over.
Ageing
The wine matures for 18 months in barriques, followed by another year in bottle.
Tasting profile
The colour is an evolving ruby red with excellent depth. Aromas of red berries, currants and strawberries lead into nuances of fresh pepper. The palate is dense, elegant and notably juicy, with savoury tannins and a spicy return.
Serving and pairing
Serve at 16–18 °C with T-bone steak or entrecôte. Store at 10–13 °C with a minimum relative humidity of 60%.
