Vineyard and terroir
The vineyards surround Magrè, at the foot of a gentle slope between 220 and 350 m, with south to south-east exposure. Their white calcareous gravel soils contain well-aerated humus. The warm Mediterranean climate is marked by very hot summers, mild winters and the Ora, an afternoon wind arriving from Lake Garda.
Grapes
100% Moscato Giallo.
Vinification
The grapes are picked by hand into small crates and dried for five months in the drying lofts of the Baron Salvadori estate. The concentrated berries are gently pressed, and the must ferments in small oak barrels.
Ageing
The young wine matures on fine lees for 12 months, followed by another six months in bottle.
Technical data
Alto Adige DOC. Recommended storage conditions are 10–13 °C and at least 60% humidity.
Tasting profile
Deep orange-yellow. The rich bouquet recalls fruit preserved in syrup, peach, pineapple and candied fruit. The palate is exceptionally long and fresh, with aromatic tension and a persistent mineral finish.
Serving and pairing
Serve at 10–12 °C. Pair with blancmange, panna cotta or mature cheese.
