Vineyard and terroir
The Chardonnay vineyards lie on a gentle slope in Magrè at 220–350 metres, facing south and south-east. Their white chalky gravel soils have a high humus content. The Mediterranean climate brings hot summers, mild winters and the Ora, a warm afternoon wind arriving from Lake Garda.
Grapes
100% Chardonnay.
Vinification
The grapes are harvested by hand. The clarified must ferments for approximately three weeks in stainless-steel tanks.
Ageing
The young wine matures on its lees for another five months before bottling.
Tasting profile
Straw yellow with good colour depth. The fresh nose offers pineapple and passion fruit over an undertone of fresh sage. The palate is dense, crisp and savoury, supported by enveloping acidity.
Serving and pairing
Serve at 10–12 °C with pad thai or spätzle with speck. Store at 10–13 °C with at least 60% relative humidity.
