Vineyard and terroir
The Gewürztraminer vineyards lie in the Bassa Atesina of Alto Adige at 350–550 m, with southeast-facing exposures. Limestone soil mixed with clay gravel underlies the vines. The Mediterranean climate brings hot summers and mild winters, while the Ora—a warm afternoon wind arriving from Lake Garda to the south—shapes the site.
Grapes
100% Gewürztraminer.
Vinification
The grapes are harvested by hand. After clarification, the must ferments for approximately three weeks in stainless-steel tanks.
Ageing
The young wine remains on its fine lees for a further five months before bottling.
Technical data
Alto Adige DOC. Recommended storage conditions are 10–13 °C and at least 60% humidity.
Tasting profile
Bright straw yellow with good depth. The nose is rich and spicy, showing pineapple and kiwi with rosemary in the background. The palate is rounded and juicy, returning to exotic-fruit flavours before a fresh finish.
Serving and pairing
Serve at 10–12 °C. Pair with asparagus and poached eggs or prawns with chickpea passatina.
