Vineyard and terroir
The vines grow in the Oltradige area at 350–450 metres above sea level, facing south-west. The compact, impermeable moraine was formed from Ice Age sediments and is rich in limestone, clay and minerals. The Mediterranean climate brings warm summers and mild winters, moderated by the Ora, a warm afternoon wind from Lake Garda.
Grapes
100% Pinot Noir.
Vinification
The grapes are picked by hand and carefully destemmed. Fermentation takes place in stainless-steel tanks with gentle pumping over.
Ageing
The wine matures in barriques for 12 months.
Tasting profile
Bright ruby red with good density. The bouquet combines undergrowth, currants, raspberries and strawberries with nuances of aromatic herbs. The palate is clean, taut and elegant, with savoury tannins and pronounced freshness.
Serving and pairing
Serve at 16–18 °C with Chateaubriand and Béarnaise sauce or Beef Wellington. Store in a cool place at 10–13 °C and at no less than 60% humidity.
