Vineyard and terroir
The grapes are organically grown in the Novaia vineyards at Marano di Valpolicella, in the province of Verona, within Valpolicella Classica. The vineyards lie on hillsides at 250–400 m above sea level, facing mainly south and southeast. The vines are 15 to 40 years old.
Vinification
The grapes are harvested by hand in the last week of September. They are destemmed, gently crushed and given a pre-fermentation maceration. Fermentation runs for 7–8 days at controlled temperature with natural yeasts, in stainless-steel tanks and truncated-cone oak vats, with daily draining and délestage. Malolactic fermentation follows.
Ageing
The wine ages for 10 months in steel tanks, then 2 months in bottle.
Tasting profile
Juicy, elegant and enjoyable. Its aromas and fruit are at their freshest when the wine is young.
Serving and pairing
Best enjoyed young, although it can retain its potential for several years.
Vintage notes
2023: favourable weather improved the quality of the grapes, giving strong flavour quality and a vivid expression of Valpolicella's terroir.
