Questo vino
Vineyard and terroir
The grapes come from vineyards belonging to the Vaona brothers and are grown exclusively with organic methods. They are selected with care so that the wine keeps its character from year to year despite the different weather of each vintage.
Grapes
A blend of Corvina, Corvinone, Rondinella and other local grape varieties.
Vinification
The grapes are harvested by hand at the end of September. They are placed in a fruttaio, a drying room 400 metres above sea level, where they dry for around 100 days. They are then destemmed, gently crushed and fermented at a controlled temperature in truncated-cone-shaped oak vats for at least 30 days.
Ageing
24 months in wooden barrels, followed by 8 months in bottle.
Tasting profile
Powerful and complex, in the classic Amarone style. Soft and well balanced.
Label / history
The name comes from "corte", the Italian word for "courtyard": an old farm courtyard that once stood on an estate owned by the Vaona family since the XVIII century. The Novaia winery now stands on the same site, and the name keeps this history alive.
