Vineyard and terroir
The estate’s vineyards cover 97 ha in Bolgheri, Tuscany, near the Tyrrhenian Sea. The soils and mild Mediterranean climate allow the grapes to ripen fully. Grapes are harvested by hand when they reach optimal ripeness.
Vinification
Fruit from each vineyard is fermented separately. The winemaking approach is adapted to the character of each harvest.

Label / history
The Vendemmia d’Artista series was launched in 2006, pairing each vintage with labels commissioned from an artist to convey an impression of that year and with a name intended to encapsulate its character. The 2015 edition is called Il Carisma (“Charisma”).
Its labels were designed by South African artist William Kentridge, whose work encompasses drawing, stage production, film and sculpture and often transforms political events into poetic allegories. The designs portray the human labour involved in harvesting grapes and making wine.
Large-format bottles from the series are sold at auction in support of charitable foundations that restore artworks and monuments.
