Questo vino
Vineyard and terroir
The grapes come from vineyards a few kilometres south of Lake Garda. The lakeside sites have clay-limestone soils and a mild climate that supports ripening.
Grapes
The source identifies the grapes as Turbiana, also known as Trebbiano di Lugana.
Vinification
The grapes are harvested late, at the end of October, and macerated on their skins for 20–30 days, developing greater depth of colour and flavour.
Tasting profile
Balanced and approachable, with pronounced flavour from the extended skin contact.
Serving and pairing
Suitable for a wide range of dishes.
Label / history
According to local legend, the Ottella name dates to the sixteenth century, as indicated by a coat of arms preserved in the estate’s courtyard. In La provincia di Verona ed i suoi vini by G. B. Perez, published in 1900, Ottella is identified as the only producer from Verona in the sixteenth century.
