Pighin

1963: the Friuli Grave estate

Three brothers, Luigi, Ercole and Fernando Pighin, bought a 200 ha estate in the Friuli Grave DOC area. They planted new vineyards and an orchard and modernized the property.

1967: new offices

A new office complex designed by the architect Gino Valle was built.

1968: Collio

The brothers acquired the Spessa di Capriva estate in Collio, which included a winery and 30 ha of vineyards.

Since 2004

The estate has been run by Fernando Pighin, his wife Danila, and their sons Roberto and Raffaele.

Lower yields are part of the approach. Control is kept at every stage of production.

Pighin makes its wines exclusively from estate-grown grapes, with careful control at every stage. The Spessa di Capriva estate in Collio includes a winery.

The winery states that it controls every stage of production carefully, and that lower yields and high-quality grape varieties help it create excellent wines.
