Terroir
Tenuta Borgo Conventi lies in a quiet setting at Farra d’Isonzo, near Gorizia, in Friuli Venezia Giulia. Its wines represent two distinct areas: Isonzo, associated with fresh, aromatic white wines, and Collio, associated with whites of marked elegance.
The Cru range draws on old vineyards situated in particularly prized zones. The estate landscape also includes vineyards at Gradiscutta, visited during the “Di mano in Mano” event.
Vinificazione
Old vineyards in specially valued locations provide the basis for the Cru range.
The wider production network includes contributing growers described as custodians of the territory, its traditions and its landscape. A sustainability gathering at Borgo Conventi brought together 130 contributors representing the Collio and Prosecco territories and collectively cultivating about 2,000 hectares of vineyards. The long-term environmental programme discussed with them encompasses “Biodiversity Friend” practices, green-energy production and careful use of water resources. These figures refer to the combined contributor network rather than to the area of Tenuta Borgo Conventi itself.
The only estate-wide production information concerns the Cru range. These wines are conceived only in the best vintages to express the potential of old vineyards in particularly prized locations. Production is deliberately limited, and every bottle is individually numbered.
Filosofia
For its Cru range, Borgo Conventi’s stated enological aim is to give the fullest possible expression to old vineyards growing in particularly prized sites. Limiting these wines to the best vintages and issuing them in small, numbered quantities places vineyard potential and vintage suitability ahead of routine annual production.
The broader environmental and social outlook presented at Borgo Conventi treats winegrowing as a responsibility toward the territory. Growers are regarded not merely as suppliers of grapes but as custodians of local traditions, ecosystems and the cultivated landscape, with sustainability framed as a conscious, daily and long-term commitment.
