Vineyard and terroir

The fruit comes from Tenuta Plozner at Barbeano di Spilimbergo, in the heart of the Grave DOC area. The estate lies at approximately 140 metres above sea level on an alluvial plain composed of around 70% stones and gravel. These free-draining deposits were laid down by the Meduna, Cellina and Tagliamento rivers following the retreat of the Alpine glaciers. The vines are trained to Guyot with north–south exposure; the estate reports a planting density of 6,000 vines per hectare.

Grapes

100% Friulano.

Vinification

The grapes are harvested mechanically at physiological ripeness. The must remains in cold contact with the skins for 4–6 hours before fermentation at a controlled temperature of approximately 18 °C.

Tasting profile

Straw yellow with subtle green reflections. Floral notes of orange blossom and white peach mingle with mineral accents. The palate is balanced, direct and easy-drinking.

Serving and pairing

Serve at 10 °C. Suitable as an aperitif and with fresh cheeses or refined Friulian cured meats, particularly Prosciutto di San Daniele served with figs.
