Questo vino
Vineyard and terroir
The estate is situated at Barbeano di Spilimbergo, in the Friuli Grave denomination, at 140 m above sea level. The high plain consists of alluvial material deposited by the Meduna, Cellina and Tagliamento rivers after the Alpine glaciers melted. Approximately 70% of the ground is stone and gravel. These freely draining, relatively infertile soils limit yields naturally. The Carnic Alps provide shelter from cold northern winds, while maritime currents from the nearby coast temper the climate.
Tenuta Plozner encompasses 43 hectares of vines planted at 6,000 vines per hectare and trained to Guyot.
Grapes
Merlot.
Formats
A Magnum bottling is listed separately alongside the standard wine.
Label / history
The estate was created by Lisio Plozner in the 1960s. Cristiana Bettili acquired Tenuta Plozner in 2013 and began converting its vineyards to organic cultivation.
