Vineyard and terroir
The estate lies at Barbeano di Spilimbergo, in the heart of the Friuli Grave denomination, at 140 m above sea level. Its high-plain soils are formed from gravelly alluvial material deposited by the Meduna, Cellina and Tagliamento rivers following the retreat of the Alpine glaciers. Stones and gravel account for approximately 70% of the ground, providing effective drainage during the wet spring season. The Carnic Alps shelter the area from cold northern winds, while nearby coastal currents moderate the climate.
The estate covers 43 hectares of vines. Planting density is 6,000 vines per hectare, with Guyot training. The lean, stony ground naturally limits yields.
Grapes
Sauvignon Blanc.
