Vineyard and terroir
The vineyards lie at 480 m a.s.l. Vines are trained to spurred cordon and Guyot and farmed under a fully certified organic regime. Natural manure sustains soil vitality, while plant-strengthening preparations help the vines respond to changing conditions. Cover crops are introduced only as needed within the vineyard’s established ecosystem.
Grapes
Cabernet Sauvignon and Sangiovese. Cabernet Sauvignon leads the wine’s depth and structure, while Sangiovese contributes freshness and rhythmic lift.
Vinification
For 2021, the varieties were harvested and vinified separately in truncated vats. Fermentation was regular and conducted at relatively low temperatures, reaching no more than 22–23°C, before a long maceration.
Ageing
The Sangiovese and Cabernet Sauvignon components were blended immediately after harvest and matured for 12 months in 225-L French oak barriques before bottling.
Vintage notes
A cold winter and cooler-than-average spring delayed budbreak in 2021. Abundant rainfall through the growing season helped the vines establish balance, supporting polyphenolic accumulation and full ripeness. Strong temperature shifts in September and October enhanced the phenolic character of the individual vineyards.
Tasting profile
A bold, direct red balancing strength and composure. Its profile combines depth and intensity with freshness, definition and enough versatility for a broad range of occasions.
