Vineyard and terroir

Rivus comes from 3.50 ha of vineyards planted at an average elevation of 350 m above sea level. The soils combine galestro, a friable marl, with alberese limestone. Planting density is 6,000 vines per hectare, and the vines are trained to spur-pruned cordons at a height of 80 cm. Total production is listed as 225 hl, yielding approximately 30,000 bottles.

Grapes

80% Sangiovese and 20% Canaiolo.

Vinification

Alcoholic fermentation takes place in stainless-steel tanks.

Ageing

The wine remains in stainless-steel tanks for 10 months.
