Vineyard and terroir
The Merlot comes from Casavecchia, the estate in the Chianti area acquired in 1998 for the production of Chianti Colli Senesi, Tosco and Lavischio. The wine takes its name from the small Lavischio river, which marks part of the boundary of the estate's vineyards.

A brief period in oak develops roundness while retaining the variety's fresh, fragrant character.
