Questo vino
Vineyard and terroir
The grapes come from vineyards in the Langhe district, cultivated at 500 m above sea level in an area with a strong tradition of Dolcetto production.
Grapes
100% Dolcetto.
Vinification
The grapes are harvested by hand in September, then destemmed and pressed. Alcoholic fermentation takes place in temperature-controlled stainless-steel tanks. Skin contact lasts approximately one week, followed by malolactic fermentation in stainless steel.
Tasting profile
Ruby red with pronounced violet reflections. The intense fragrance combines cherry and ripe plum. The palate is balanced, fresh, properly tannic, fragrant and vinous, ending with a pleasantly bitter aftertaste. Moderate alcohol and marked freshness shape its accessible, everyday character.
Serving and pairing
A versatile table wine suited to an entire meal, with a particular affinity for Italian-style antipasti, first courses and fresh cheeses.
Label / history
The first vintage was produced in 1969. Renato Ratti created the historic “soldier” label as a tribute to the heroism of Piedmontese regiments during the eighteenth century.
The wine is presented in the Albeisa bottle. Named after the city of Alba and created by Renato Ratti in 1973, this bottle was conceived as an identifying symbol for the territory and its wines.
