Questo vino
Vineyard and terroir
The Sangiovese comes from vineyards in the communes of Ortona and San Salvo, on Abruzzo’s Adriatic coast. The vines have a south-eastern exposure, grow in clay-limestone soil and are trained on the traditional pergola system.
Grapes
100% Sangiovese.
Vinification
The grapes are destemmed and crushed, then undergo a two-day cold maceration. Maceration and fermentation continue for 9–11 days at 20–22°C.
Ageing
Between 10% and 20% of the wine matures in oak, while the balance remains in stainless steel.
Tasting profile
Garnet red. The nose is intense and persistent, combining fruit, a vinous character and a note of wood. Medium-bodied and balanced, with well-defined tannins and an approachable, ready-to-drink style.
Serving and pairing
Serve at 16–18°C. Suitable for traditional Italian dishes, meat and baked fish.
