Vineyard and terroir
The Sangiovese comes from Ortona and San Salvo on Abruzzo’s Adriatic coast. The vines have a south-eastern exposure, grow on clay-limestone soils and are trained on the pergola system.
Grapes
100% Sangiovese.
Vinification
The grapes are destemmed and crushed, then undergo a two-day cold maceration. Maceration and fermentation continue for 9–11 days at 20–22°C.
Ageing
Between 10% and 20% of the wine matures in oak, while the balance remains in stainless steel.
Tasting profile
Garnet red, with an intense, persistent and fruit-led bouquet accompanied by vinous and woody notes. The palate is medium-bodied and balanced, with good tannins. It is ready to drink.
Serving and pairing
Serve at 16–18°C. Pair with traditional Italian dishes, meat or baked fish.
