Vineyard and terroir
The grapes come from parcels at Patricone and Bibinet in the municipality of Barbaresco. The predominantly east-facing sites have clay-and-limestone soils and a comparatively cool character.
Grapes
Nebbiolo and Barbera. Blend proportions vary by release, as do the maturation times of the two components; no percentages are specified.
Vinification
Nebbiolo and Barbera ferment separately in temperature-controlled stainless-steel tanks. They subsequently mature separately in wood and are blended before bottling.
Tasting profile
The wine is identified simply as “Vino Rosso” because the deliberate composition and interpretation do not conform to the applicable DOC production rules. The aim is a harmonious and refined red with a bright garnet colour and an attractive bouquet of fruit and spices. Its finesse and elegance are intended to make it versatile at the table and enjoyable on different occasions.
