Questo vino
Vineyard and terroir
The wine comes from a 0.58-hectare parcel at Patricone with an east-facing exposure. The soils contain clay and limestone. The description distinguishes deeper soil on south-facing terrain from cooler, lighter conditions on southeast-facing terrain, associating these features with tannic structure and elegance.
Grapes
100% Barbera.
Vinification
Fermentation takes place in stainless-steel tanks for 12–14 days at a controlled temperature of 27–29 °C. Malolactic fermentation occurs in small, previously used wooden vessels.
Ageing
The wine remains for six months in the same small wooden vessels and then matures in bottle.
Tasting profile
Deep ruby red. Warm, robust, broad and complex, with pronounced acidic freshness, vinous character and softness. In youth it emphasizes appealing fruit; after several years, its structure and silky texture become more evident.
Serving and pairing
A versatile table wine suited to an entire meal. Recommended pairings include pasta, boiled meats, white and red meats, and aged cheeses.
