Vineyard and terroir
The grapes come from east-facing vineyards in Montestefano and Patricone. The clay-and-limestone soils are comparatively cool and light, contributing finesse and elegance.
Grapes
90% Nebbiolo and 10% Barbera.
Vinification
Nebbiolo and Barbera undergo separate fermentations in stainless-steel tanks for 14–18 days at a controlled temperature of 28°C.
Ageing
The two varieties mature separately in wood for 6–12 months. They are subsequently blended and bottled.
Tasting profile
A dry, harmonious and refined wine with a bright garnet colour. Aromas evoke raspberry, blackberry, woodland berries and spices. Nebbiolo provides personality and elegance, while the smaller proportion of Barbera contributes vinous character, freshness and softness.
Serving and pairing
Suited to refined, substantial courses, particularly pasta dishes, red or white meats and cheeses. It is also recommended with fondue and truffles.
