Vineyard and terroir

The Nebbiolo is grown in the Barolo vineyards of Piedmont. The estate covers 8.66 hectares and is farmed organically, with only natural fertilizers used in the vineyards. Vines are carefully selected, and the crop is reduced to half of the grape clusters. In favourable, warm years each vine yields enough fruit for one bottle; in rainy years several vines are needed for one bottle.

Vinification

Harvest usually takes place from late September to early October.

Ageing

24 months in oak barrels, 8 months in steel tanks, then 8 months in bottle.

Tasting profile

The 2020 is powerful, rich and deep, with a fine structure and a complex, expressive aroma. It has excellent ageing potential.

Vintage notes

The 2020 vintage is characterised in the text only by the tasting description given above; no weather details are provided.

Label / history

Roberto Voerzio first released Barolo "Cerequio" in 1988. He took over the family business in 1987 and now runs the estate with his family. He embraces modern techniques in winemaking and grape growing while remaining committed to organic methods.
