Questo vino
Vineyard and terroir
The fruit is selected from seven plots in two vineyards: Fossati, on a hill near La Serra, and Case Nere, in the central part of Cerequio. Extensive pruning and the removal of half the bunches keep yields to about 750 g per vine, roughly half the standard yield per plant. Only natural fertilizers are used in the vineyards. In favourable warm years, one vine produces enough fruit for one bottle; in rainy years, several vines are required.
Ageing
The wine is aged for 10 years before release.
Vintage notes
Hail and thunderstorms in 2002 destroyed almost the entire crop.
Label / history
The first release was planned from the 2002 harvest, but the loss of that crop prevented it. The 2003 vintage was released in 2013.
