Vineyard and terroir
The grapes are grown on local estates in the municipality of Montepulciano in southeastern Tuscany.
Grapes
Prugnolo Gentile, a local clone of Sangiovese, forms the main part of the blend, with a small proportion of Canaiolo.
Vinification
Fully ripe grapes ferment in contact with their skins for at least 12 days, following the traditional local method.
Ageing
The wine matures for two years in oak barrels, followed by at least three months in bottle.
Tasting profile
The Canaiolo contributes a clear fruity character and spicy notes. The palate is full and well balanced.
