Vineyard and terroir

The first vintage was 2022. The introductory account places the source vineyards at the Scannano farm in Serre di Rapolano and describes approximately 2 ha of medium-textured soils with a good clay component and a less pronounced mineral presence. The technical specification instead identifies the vineyard as La Stella at Gaiole in Chianti, gives an area of 4 ha, and describes deep, clay-bearing soil with calcareous sedimentary rocks.

The vines range from 6 to 10 years old, lie at an average 300 m a.s.l. with an east-to-west exposure, and are planted at 5,000 vines/ha. Average yield is 1.5 kg per vine. Training and pruning follow the Guyot system.

Label / history

BoscoRiccio Bianco was created as a youthful interpretation of Malvasia, maintaining a connection with a variety historically present in Tuscany while adopting a more contemporary outlook. The name is a dedication to the surrounding territory: “Bosco” refers to the forest with which the estate has long coexisted, while “Riccio,” the chestnut burr, refers to the chestnut tree—“Castagno”—behind the estate’s name. The wine was conceived around conviviality, freshness and carefree enjoyment, with a character described through funk and rock imagery.
