Vineyard and terroir

The Chardonnay comes from the Langhe. The vineyards are sustainably farmed with the aim of reducing fungicide use. Vines are Guyot-trained at a density of 4,000 plants per hectare, with yields of 45–55 quintals per hectare.

Grapes

100% Chardonnay. This is a vintage sparkling wine. The first vintage produced was 1989.

Vinification

Made by the traditional method, with riddling and disgorgement.

Ageing

The wine matures on its lees for at least 120 months. Following disgorgement, it receives a further 8–12 months of bottle ageing before release.

Technical data

Designation: V.S.Q. Traditional Method. Available bottle sizes are 0.75 L, 1.5 L, 3 L, 6 L and 9 L.

Tasting profile

Slow-moving, restrained bubbles rise through a colour evolving from straw yellow toward gold, while retaining visual freshness. The nose is complex and persistent: ripe yellow fruit leads with banana before developing toward mango and papaya, always underpinned by lively citrus. Yellow flowers add finesse, followed by delicate, enveloping notes of butter—particularly peanut butter—and dried fruit. Subtle oak and fresh toast support the bouquet without dominating it.

The palate begins with a distinct citrus character accompanied by tropical fruit. A measured touch of spice appears on the finish. Its solid structure combines pronounced sapidity with acidity, while the texture remains soft, rounded and balanced. The finish is remarkably persistent, clear and clean.
