Pinot Nero. The wine is vintage-dated.
Vinification
Produced by the Traditional Method. It matures on the lees for at least 60 months before riddling and disgorgement.
Ageing
Following disgorgement, the wine rests in bottle for a further six months before release.
Technical data
V.S.Q. Traditional Method. Available in 0.75 L, 1.5 L and 3 L formats. The first vintage produced was 2003. The published technical information represents averages across several years and may vary with the individual vintage.
Tasting profile
Crystal clear, with fine bubbles forming regular chains, rising at a moderate pace and disappearing centrifugally. Its onion-skin pink colour is enlivened by copper highlights.
The aroma opens immediately with clearly defined fresh red fruit, blood orange and citrus peel. Refined yeast-derived notes recall toasted bread with marmalade, tending toward orange rather than red fruit and adding complexity without becoming intrusive.
The palate is crisp, clean and harmonious, closely echoing the aromas. Redcurrant, blueberry and raspberry mingle with an orange-citrus accent. Alcohol is well integrated, while the lively mousse is also creamy and enveloping. The finish is persistent, balanced and elegant. Softness and structure are held in equilibrium, giving the wine precision, finesse and drinkability.
