Label / history
First released in 1990, the wine has an annual production of approximately 32,000 bottles.
Ronco dei Tassi was founded in 1989, when Fabio Coser and his wife, Daniela, bought a 9 ha property in the heart of the Collio–Gorizia region; 4 ha were planted with vines. The name refers both to the badgers living on the Coser family’s land—tassi means “badgers” in Italian—and to the terraced vine plantings known as ronchi.
The family estate now borders a nature reserve and has more than 18 ha of vineyards at elevations of 140–200 m. The founders’ sons, Matteo and Enrico, now run the winery, with an emphasis on preserving tradition, respecting the vines and carefully exploring new winemaking technologies and opportunities.
