Vineyard and terroir
The fruit comes from three Salcheto estates: Salcheto in Montepulciano, Poggio Piglia in Chiusi and Il Greppo in Abbadia di Montepulciano.
Grapes
The 2022 blend is 90% Sangiovese, with Canaiolo Nero, Mammolo and Merlot together accounting for the remaining 10%.
Vinification
The wine is conceived as an “all fruit” rosé. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel, without added sulphites, selected yeasts or tannins. It is bottled without filtration.
Ageing
Maturation lasts four months, with 70% of the wine held in stainless steel and 30% in wood, followed by three months of bottle refinement.
Technical data
The 2022 vintage has 13% alcohol, pH 3.38, total acidity of 5.41 g/L and residual sugar of 1.12 g/L. Production totals 8,000 bottles. It is packaged in a 395 g standard Burgundy bottle with a screw cap, exclusively in the 750 ml format. The first vintage was 2013, and the expected drinking window is two to three years.
Tasting profile
Cerasuolo pink in the glass. The bouquet combines carnation, cherry, wild strawberry, pomegranate, liquorice and flint. The palate opens soft and balanced, then develops freshness and savoury character, with notable consistency.

Serve at 14–16 °C.
Vintage notes
The 2022 growing season was shaped by extreme heat and drought, moderated by an almost ideal end to the season. The resulting wine retains freshness while showing intensity and a robust profile.

Obvius Rosato was introduced with the 2013 vintage. Its concept joins experimental taste with aromatic precision, resistance to oxidation and volatile instability, and reliable development over time.
