Questo vino

Vineyard and terroir

Fruit is selected from south-facing vineyards in the Alba area.

Grapes

100% Barbera.

Vinification

The grapes are harvested manually with selective picking, then crushed and destemmed. Fermentation takes place in stainless-steel tanks at a controlled temperature. During skin maceration, the must is pumped over the cap daily.

Ageing

The wine matures for at least 12 months before release, including at least 4 months in oak barriques.

Tasting profile

Deep, intense ruby red. The persuasive bouquet combines damson plum and chocolate. The palate is concentrated and intense, with very ripe, smoky plum fruit and a balanced interplay of supple tannins and youthful acidity.

Serving and pairing

Pair with mushroom risotto, roasted or grilled red meat, furred or feathered game, and cheese—especially mature and blue varieties. The stated cellar life is 8 years.

Label / history

The wine was created as an exploration of the different expressions of Barbera d'Alba while maintaining a traditional approach.
