Vineyard and terroir

The grapes are grown in the municipality of Monforte d’Alba. Its structured soils are rich in marl and clay and originated through marine uplift during the period described as “Elvetian.” This terroir produces a structured, substantial and full-bodied expression of Barolo.

Grapes

100% Nebbiolo.

Vinification

The grapes undergo manual selective harvesting. Fermentation is conducted at controlled temperature, followed by maceration on the skins.

Ageing

The wine is aged for 38 months, including 18 months in large Slavonian oak casks, and subsequently matures in bottle.

Tasting profile

Powerful spicy aromas evoke vanilla, cinnamon and green pepper. The profile is complex, ethereal, intense and harmonious, with notable richness and completeness. Powerful tannins are balanced by a velvety, enveloping sensation; the finish is fine and persistent.

Serving and pairing

Pair with game, braised meats, truffle-based dishes, or mature and strongly flavoured cheeses. Cellaring potential is 10 years.
