Vineyard and terroir

Serra dei Turchi is a cru on the eastern side of La Morra, at 230 metres above sea level. Its favourable exposure promotes healthy ripening and contributes fruit and spice to the resulting Barolo.

Grapes

100% Nebbiolo.

Vinification

The grapes are harvested and selected by hand, then crushed and destemmed. Fermentation takes place in stainless-steel tanks at a controlled temperature. The wine macerates on the skins, with daily pumping of the must over the cap.

Ageing

The wine matures for 38 months, including at least 18 months in Slavonian oak casks. Bottle ageing follows the period in wood.

Tasting profile

The product description presents aromas of spices, dried flowers and a pronounced rose note. The palate is round, velvety and smooth, with sweet tannins, substantial structure and long-ageing potential. The technical sheet instead emphasizes an ethereal, balsamic profile with elegance, length and excellent structure.

Serving and pairing

Pair with game, braised veal, stewed meat, grilled fillet and other grilled meats, and mature cheeses. Cellaring potential is 10 years.
