Questo vino
Vineyard and terroir
The fruit comes from Torre, Vignanova, Poderini and Campastrello. The wine draws on the estate’s younger vineyards and their fresher, lighter production, aiming for moderate ripeness and extraction while retaining both drinkability and complexity.
Grapes
30% Sangiovese, 30% Cabernet Sauvignon, 20% Merlot, 10% Syrah and 10% Teroldego.
Vinification
Harvest runs from early September for Merlot to early October for Cabernet Sauvignon. Fermentation proceeds spontaneously in steel and cement tanks. Two pump-overs are initially performed each day, then reduced according to the progress of extraction. Maceration is likewise adjusted through frequent tasting. Malolactic fermentation occurs naturally in November, after which the separately vinified components are blended.
Ageing
Maturation lasts 12 months, partly in 30 hl cement vessels and partly in second- and third-use barriques.
Tasting profile
The intended style combines freshness and lightness with satisfying complexity. Ripeness and extraction are deliberately restrained to preserve an easy-drinking expression of Bolgheri.
Serving and pairing
The stated ageing potential is 10 years.
